Curriculum At present we have two courses available 1. Qaydah Class 2. Nazera Class Students who are in Qaydah class are learning the basics of Arabic reading and are learning simply how to recognise letters, joining up letters and reading individual words and small sentences. They use the book 'Ahsanul Qawaa'id' at present. Once they are ready they will move on to Nazera Class. Students who are in the Nazera Class are reading juz 'amma or Quran. They are practicing the recitation of the Quran and will slowly, through more and more practice, become more fluent in their recitation. InshaAllah, this year, we plan to rearrange our classes and have the courses set in a different order. After Ramadhan this year, we will have a total of three different courses. 1. Nazera Course 2. Hifz Course 3. Alim Course 1. Nazera Course Students who are presently in Qaydah Class, will become a part of the Nazera course as in reality, both of these classes have the same goal. 2. Hifz Course We will make an addition this year of a hifz course wherein students who have passed the Nazera Course will go into Hifz Class. In this class they will begin the memorisation of the Quran and we plan to make them memorise the complete Quran. 3. Alim Course The provisional syllabus for the alim course is as follows: Introductory Year
In the first year, students will have 15 hours of study per week (3 hours per day). The subjects taught will be as follows:
Urdu (45 minutes per day) Basic Arabic (45 minutes per day) Tajweed (30-45 minutes per day) Fiqh (45 minutes per day)
Urdu
Students will begin with the basics of the Urdu language. This is because the books within the Alim class syllabus will be taught in the Urdu language. Students will begin by learning the Urdu alphabet, followed by basic Urdu words. These will then be used to concoct sentences. Students will be taught the grammatical procedures undertaken in constructing sentences in Urdu. They will then be taught pieces of basic Urdu literature, using books such as Allah ke Rasool, Hadhrat Abu Bakr etc.
Basic Arabic
Students will learn about the basic Arabic grammar and etymology. They will learn how to construct sentences in Arabic and how the structure of the Arabic language is. Their studies will begin with a book called ‘Das Sabaq’, which will be followed by another book on basic Arabic language.
Tajweed
Students will be taught how to read the Quran correctly with tajweed. Although this would have been covered in previous years, however as part of this course, students will go a little deeper into understanding the qualities of letters and the various rules regarding the pronunciation of letters.
Fiqh
Studenst will learn rules related to Tahaarah, Salaah, Zakaah, Sawm and Hajj. They will also learn about various points of aqeedah along with rules on various other subjects. As this is the first year, this subject will be covered in the English language.
First Year
Students now have enough background support and will be ready to study the books taught in Madaaris up and down the country as part of the official and formally known Alim Class.
There will be 17 and a half hours of study per week (3 and a half hours per day). The subjects taught will be as follows:
Nahw (30 minutes per day) Sarf (30 minutes per day) Lughaat (20 minutes per day) Adab (25 minutes per day) Duroosul Lughah (30 minutes per day) Urdu (25 minutes per day) Fiqh (25 minutes per day) Tajweed (25 minutes per day)
Nahw
Students will study a book called Mukhtasarun Nahw. This deals with Arabic grammar on an elementary level.
Sarf
Students will study a book called Muallimus Sarf. This deals with Arabic Etymology on an elementary level.
Lughaat
Students will study a book called Safwatul Masaadir. This book deals with learning words from the Arabic language and how their different seeghahs are formed. This does include an aspect of sarf, however the focus here would be to use sarf with words taught in this book. They will also learn how to use Arabic dictionaries.
Adab
Students will begin the study of the qasas series. These are books written by the renowned author Allamah Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi. In this year, students will study Qasas part 1. This will help them get an understanding of Arabic texts and how they are to be translated.
Duroosul Lughah
Students will learn how to create Arabic sentences. The book they will study for this lesson is called Duroosul Lughaat
Urdu
Students already know the basics of Urdu. Here they will learn more about Urdu and will gain more practice on the language. They will be using a book called Hikaayaate Sahaabah.
Fiqh
This year Fiqh will be taught in the Urdu language. Students will study Baheshti samar.
Tajweed
Students will undergo a more in-depth study of tajweed. This year they will study tajweed rules in the Urdu language using a book called Jamaalul Quraan.
Second Year
There will be 17 and a half hours of study per week (3 and a half hours per day). The subjects taught will be as follows:

Nahw
In the third year, students will study Arabic grammar in the Arabic language using a book called HIdaayatun Nahw. They will study the first half of this book this year.
Sarf
Students will study Sarf using an Urdu book by the name of Kitaabus Sarf, which is a detailed version of the book they had studied in the previous year, Muallimus Sarf.
Adab
Students will study the next 2 parts of the Qasas series
Duroosul Lughah
Students will study the next part in the duroosul lughaat series.
Modern Arabic
This will be taught using a book called Muallimul Inshaa, which is a book using modern Arabic literature.
Urdu
Students will study a book called Seeratun Nu’maan which is in the Urdu language.
Fiqh
This year, students will learn fiqh using the Arabic language. They will study two books. Some aspects of fiqh will be taught using Noorul Iydhaah, whilst other aspects using Mukhtasarul Qudoori.
Tajweed
Students will study more tajweed and in this year will be studying a book called Fawaaid-e-Makkiyyah.
